1 Design and Build quality

Akaso ek7000 pro is a compact action camera with dimensions of 2.4 x 1.6 x 1.3 inches and weight around 59.5 g. Akaso Ek 7000 pro is an upgraded version of Akaso ek7000 that comes with 2 inch IPS touchscreen and EIS features. Using its IPS display, you can change the settings quickly. Akaso has four buttons that perform four different functions.

  • Shutter button- this button is situated on the top side of the camera that performs start and stops functions while recording the video and it clicks pictures also. It works as an enter button for browsing the settings.
  • Mode button- it is on the front side of the camera and is used to turn on and off the camera. It also works as a back button and mostly used to set modes like a photo, video, burst, time-lapse.
  • Up and down button- it is used to browse the photos and videos when the camera is in photo and video mode and open the gallery function for photos and video.

While Eken h9r has an incredible design that is made of solid plastic. Its dimensions are 2.3 x 1 x 1.6 inches and its weight is around 65g. The front side of this camera has the lens and power button and the backside has a 2 inch LCD screen that is used to clicking pictures and changing settings but it does not have a touchscreen like Akaso pro. It has an up and down button on one side and another side has two ports-micro USB and the HDMI port. 

2 Electronic Image Stabilization and view angle

Akaso pro comes with image stabilization as well as a video stabilization feature. It’s a good full HD action camera with an electronic image stabilization function that can capture high-resolution photos and records smooth and steady videos in 1080p at 60fps and 30fps but Eken h9r does not come with EIS function. Akaso pro can shoot fast-moving objects with clarity and you can also adjust the view angle with many different angle modes like super wide-angle, medium angle, and wide-angle while Eken h9r comes with a 170-degree wide-angle lens that can capture the maximum view. 

3 Video quality and Shooting modes

Akaso pro provides 4k ultra HD action camera that shoots 4k video at 25fps and 2.7k at 30fps, 1080p at 60fps, and 16mp photos. They have four shooting modes: burst photos, timelapse, loop recording, diving mode. 

  • Burst photos- burst mode takes continuous pictures and it takes up to 3 photos in 1.5 seconds. It is used for fast-moving action.
  • Timelapse mode- in this mode you can capture a sequence of photos and then make a video file.
  • Loop recording- this mode records in a loop and each loop has a duration of 1, 3, or 5 minutes.
  • Diving mode- this mode adjusts the color balance while diving and gives the better result of an underwater scene.

While Eken h9r comes with the OV4689 image sensor and the sunplus 6630 chipsets. It is a so-called 4k action camera but it is an interpolated version of 1080p. they provide full HD resolution up to 60fps and 720 at 120 fps for capturing fast-moving objects. Eken provides you live streaming on YouTube and Facebook. According to its cost, they offer excellent video quality. Eken also has four shooting modes.

  • Video mode- it shoots video in 4kmode at 25fps and video quality is quite decent.it gives better results in sunlight.
  • Still photo mode- Akaso captures 12mp still photos. Its electronic image stabilization capture high-resolution photos and supports video resolution up to 1080p at 30 fps
  • Burst photos- burst mode takes continuous pictures and it takes up to 3 photos in 1.5 seconds. It is used for fast-moving action.
  • Timelapse mode- in this mode you can capture a sequence of photos and then make a video file

Akaso comes with two 1050mah batteries with a dual dock charger. While Eken offers a 1050 Mah Li-ion battery. It takes 45 minutes when recording 1080p videos at 60 fps.

7 Mobile app and Remote control

Akaso pro comes with 2.4ghz wireless wrist remote control that can operate the camera easily while skiing, cycling, and surfing. You can not use it while diving because the remote is not waterproof.

You can also operate these cameras remotely by downloading the ismart DV app on Akaso pro camera and EZ icam app on Eken h9r camera in your mobile phone and tablet.

Akaso EK7000 Pro is the best selling 4k decent action camera that comes with three new features- touchscreen, electronic video stabilization, and extra field of view. It’s a good budget oriented camera. Although Akaso pro is used for surfing, snorkeling, and scuba diving it’s not a true 4k camera. This camera also has a specific diving mode for taking underwater pictures and it automatically adjusts the brightness even in dim light. They provide all the necessary mounting ports, bars, and water-resistant cases but they don’t provide a memory card. You have to purchase it separately.
